Gps

As anyone who's ever road-tripped with me can attest to, I need a GPS. Preferably one that speaks English and is easy to use. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with these? What should I look for, where should I look and how much should I expect to pay?

A year ago we started looking at navigation systems that spoke English, and found them to be really expensive- around 400,000. Instead, we got a smartphone that had GPS, google maps, naver maps, and daum maps installed. Worked great. I believe you can buy mounts for your smartphone to display on your windshield as well. Good luck!

If I am rehired next year, I was going to get a smartphone (well, iPhone) anyway! Is the image big enough to be useful? Will it speak to me? I am so tech-illiterate!

Can I get an app for my iPod? or will it not pick up the signals! Eek.

You can get the Daum maps for ipod, but it's kind of useless unless you have an internet connection, and the only connection available for ipod is wi-fi...which roots you to one place...

So, I'd go with the iphone.
