bouldering in Anyang area
Coming north from Anyang on highway 1 (시흥대로) I can see what appear to be many granite boulders and slabs a little bit before the art park intersection (안양예술공원사거리). What's notable is that I think the approach might not be so difficult. Are there good lines? I don't know. Are the landings reasonable? Also don't know. Still, I think it's worth investigating. I've discovered some unclimbed boulders with a few good lines in the art park area, but my guess is that this area may offer much more. If you would like to join me some weekend for exploring and possibly climbing, speak up.

I haven't climbed since I have been here (only 3 weeks) but would like to check out the area and see what is available there.

I would be interested to come along if you wanted to throw a group together one weekend to explore...

So it has now been three months since I have been here and all my climbing gear remains untouched in my suitcase but if someone is going out there, I would like to check it out still.

I thought I had replied to this thread, but I guess the message didn't get posted? Anyway, I never made it out there myself and am leaving Korea in just 4 days.

But rocks do exist, and if you go to Gwanak station and walk along the highway there you can spot them, especially now while there's less tree coverage.

So, I'd certainly encourage people to visit.

cheers for the tip lotus,
gonna check it out on the 24th or 25th if anyone is interested.

And you need to walk southward from Gwanak station.

Check this map for the specific area: http://g.co/maps/a4zpp

hey I am relatively new to climbing. I climbed a few times a week for a few months at gwangmyeong with a buddy before it got cold. it's warm again and i'm off winter intensive work schedule and would like to get back out climbing.

i live in anyang (pyeongchon) and definitely am looking for people who want to go. i dunno how hard the rocks in gwanak are (whether i am too amateur lol) but i'd be down to climb somewhere real soon
