Ironpalms Wall
Submitted on March 27th, 2011 by skinsk Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Jeollanam-Do    City: Mokpo
photo More Yudalsan "pebbles", with more variations than Kokkiri Bawi. From 8-16 meters-- slabs, overhangs, crazy corners and pebbly slabs will keep you on your toes.

South facing, the sun hits early and leaves late, with some gorgeous sunsets over the sea.

Ironpalms J (정현진) is the driving force behind this wall, a real gem that with Kokkiri Bawi makes Mokpo a destination for climbing. There's easy access and something for everyone.

This is a great winter crag-- soaking up the sun in the temperate south. In summer, th... [Read More]

Jaksungsan: Bae Bawi
Submitted on March 28th, 2007 by climbhigher14k Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Chungcheongbuk-Do    City: Jecheon
photo This is a granite, multi-pitch aid/sport/trad area, located in a beautiful, pristine (ok, so we are in Korea) location. The climbing is very slabby and somewhat runout, but there are also some nice cracks. I have yet to fully explore the area, but there are aprox. 10 multipitch routes, up to 162 meters in length. I went on a Sunday and saw no-one. All the routes appear to have been re-bolted recently, but the anchors are typical Korean anchors (clamped wire with large hooks). The rock is very textured and solid.... [Read More]

Jeok Byeok
Submitted on September 21st, 2005 by skinsk Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gangwon-Do    City: Sokcho
photo Overhanging granite face (with some features/cracks); all routes on the "red face" require significant aid climbing (OK, one was freed by Son Chung-Jun and Son Sang-Won), though primarily AO bolt ladders. It's overhanging and very exposed. Bolts and anchors are solid and slings seem to be changed fairly regularly, but the routes are used often and the slings are "aided on", so some extra slings and a knife might not be a bad idea.

There are 4 routes on the face, from left to right, 1) KyoDae "take turns" p1 12b/AO,25m p2 AO bolt ladder,30m p... [Read More]

Jeokdeokri: Sangsa, Buchae Bawis
Submitted on March 23rd, 2008 by skinsk Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Tongyeong
photo Three nice rocks overlooking the sea and the village of Jeokdeok boast about 25 routes, a few 2 pitches. Some moss and a little dirt, but the rock is pretty solid. The bolts look pretty solid and the place is kept up well. Most of the names are written below the routes, and (sadly), most of the bolts (and often the surrounding rock) are painted red. A few of the routes have some run out sections, and at least one (a one-bolt wonder) has decking potential. Some nuts or small cams might be helpful.... [Read More]

photo Vertical to overhanging mostly on an interesting rock that varied from crumbly to slick with quartz-like crystalline. . . and some odd criss-crossing layers. . . anyone knowing Geology could have a "field day" (yuk yuk).

19 routes, most well bolted (every meter) and the ones we tried-- interesting! Many old bolts have been chopped and several routes have been rebolted. Routes are from 12-15 meters, at least 9 routes are graded 5.10.... [Read More]

Jobisan Crag
Submitted on May 5th, 2013 by pnwgr20 Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gyeonggi-Do    City: Pyeongtaek
photo Ok, so there is another entry for this called Jobiam that is listed under Yongin. I think that the name of this place is Jobisan. This is a good place to get strong. Routes range from 5.8 to 5.14. See the picture.

The cave has fixed, chained quickdraws. Before you get to the climbing area, you'll see on the left a wooden sign and a small bouldering area. One nice thing about this place is that on a hot summer day, the cave will be cool.... [Read More]

photo I don't know what type of rock it is but the climbing is overhanging positive holds with the bolts in good places. It's alot of fun. All the climbs have the grades marked below them. There are many climbs in the 5.10 range and some in the 11, and a few in the 12-13. There are maybe 25 routes in total.... [Read More]

Kadukdo Busan

photo there is overhang, face and crack.
It' awsome and wonderful sea cliff.

the hight is 10m to 28m
the quality is hard, and little chossy
the holds is crimpy, side pull, under cling, and some pockets.
the anchors and bolts are very clear.

Kadukdo sea cliff is made in 2008, but the maker did not open it.
These days some climbers enjoy it.

photo Faces, cracks, chimneys, roofs, overhangs, slabs all bolted and most easily accessible to toprope. (Some would be quite sporty leads). Height ranges from 6-20 meters. All of the climbs are bolted, with a few fixed pins in between. Some of the bolts are well-spaced and there is potential for decking, but most of the climbs that could be plugged with gear are less run out, and you'd likely feel you hauled extra gear for nothing. 50+ routes on several large rock outcroppings, with some bouldering potential in the area. Rock was pretty solid. Ancho... [Read More]

Ke-reun B Ridge is a climb put up by the Cheongju Climbers back in 1997 I believe. I does have a few belay bolts, but is 90% trad protected, and a really nice line in a quiet country area, between Yeong-dong (영동) and Geumsan (금산) in Yeong-dong County (영동군). The rock is pink-ish granite of sorts, mostly pretty solid, but with sections of loose crumbly stuff and plenty of small pebbles etc on the easier angled parts.... [Read More]
