Hi, Sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm struggling to find out where I can get suitable insurance for climbing in korea. You mention that ordinary korean health insurance doesn't cover you for climbing accidents, but without getting a full blown travel insurance policy what other options are there? I hope the girl who had the accident is all right, sounds like a horrible ordeal.

Korean insurance will help alot with hospital, though not helicopter rescue. Membership in the American Alpine Club gives insurance including evac. . . not sure if it's open to non Americans, but maybe worth a check. . . and you could always post the results of a search in the appropriate forum!

Linsey is back in the USA and recovering. . . looking good, but it's a long path. . . one she will surely succeed in but positive energy, prayers, funding or as you like always helps!
