Lindsey's Farewell at the G June 27-28

There was a sad if not outright bitter irony in the absence of Lindsey from her her own farewell bash....but if she could be in 2 places at once we wouldn't have been there in the 1st place. We wish you all the absolute best of times and adventues and joys ahead matey!
However in a veiled mask of damn the torpedoes full smile ahead, we (nigh 30 KOTRers all told - see how freaking popular you were Lindsey!!!) endured a hailstorm of car-park yuppie stupidity and noise Fri night, to climb ourselves silly (6am-7.30pm) in your hallowed memory...with so many people getting great 1st leads, new grades, new friends and sunburn. Too many details to remember, but Wes making it out with a broken leg was stout as! Kevin leading several routes he previously failed on TR incredible! Dave taking the biggest whipper ever recorded and not even being fazed enough to re-chalk his hands before (re)ascending the 10m and send it (12a??), that was way impressive. Yeong-cheol for great work on his 1st ever day of climbing and making the most delicious ever smoked pork BBQ, Hannah for being way harder than ANYONE in overcoming some upset tummy trouble from the hammock and be off climbing at 7am (after the night that preceeeded it - it's outrageous!). Same goes for Gabe who had the nastiest torn hammy bruise I've ever seen (but still climbed like a champ)! The ever saucy Irish lass Louise, you're a bloody legend mate, so too is Wolverine Charlie with his removable cast....we had to keep him drunk and stuck in a tube in the river to stop him from climbing! Kyung Ah as ever, a million thanks, not just for buying me a new climbing rope ( ) but for holding the whole show together (no mean feat after 13 hours and 10 sends on Sat alone + a bazillion bottles of soju and beer!). Thanks to to Jason of the dehaan for massaging my nipples and to Tyler, Diana, Matt, Luke, Vada, Cassie, Brandon, Sung-kap, Quasim, Stephan, Nate, Brian, Megan, Wes, Danielle, Martyn, Seong-jae and anyone I've forgotten, JUST FOR COMING AND MAKING IT SWEET.

Here are some pics. They definitely didn't cover everyone there. Gabe, Louise, Travis, Martin, Patty, and Jason are here. Plus a video of Charlie jumping into the water (how did you get up there with your hand injury?)

thanks all...had a great time

Thanks everyone for a great first time out properly with KOTR....next time I'll have to try the full two days (once I get a better mattress to go with my swag/bivvy!).

P.S. Just in case you too have thought of a epic motorbike adventure from Daejeon to Ganhyun, the return trip on Sat night took just on 5 hours (including 30 min dinner break).....definitely a once-off!
