Naewonsa
Submitted on September 16th, 2011 by andymckilliam Type: Bouldering    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Busan
photo Possibly some of the most accessably boulders in the country - if you have a car. The friendly female nuns at Naewonsa were good enough to pave a road the whole way through naewonsa proper (walking is required for the other areas). With a good arm you can literally through your pads from the car to the boulders.

Naewonsa is a really pretty valley with a boat load of boulders. The climbs offer pretty much everything sans crack. There are plenty of slabs, faces, overhangs and several roofs (one main cave). Arguably some of the best climbing in... [Read More]

Pusan Climbers Climbing Gym
Submitted on March 13th, 2007 by skinsk Type: Gyms    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Busan
photo Small neighborhood gym dating from 1997. Mr Lee Jong-yang (이종양) speaks little English, but foreigners are welcome to join. Pusan Climbers have done alot of the route development throughout the region.

I visited early in the day, so the place didn't have the usual "vibe" I'm sure, but for some folks might appreciate the budget prices--still W20,000/month or W3,000 for a day.... [Read More]

Samagui Bawi

photo 8 routes. Most climbs are vertical or barely slab, and very crimpy. Anchors are solid with hooks, not rings. Almost all the bolts are new. Not sure what type of rock. Basalt maybe?... [Read More]

Schoolboy Boulders
Submitted on October 26th, 2008 by choss monkey Type: Bouldering    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Busan
photo Granite from bullet proof to pure choss. The North side of this little hill tends to have better quality rock than the South.

Not much of a destination, but it's nice if you live nearby. A number of the problems are V0-V1 and some can be done without a pad.... [Read More]

Songgye
Submitted on May 17th, 2010 by robinelijah Type: Rock Climbs    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Busan
photo There are 33 bolted routes that I found. One 5.9, a couple of 10a-c's and a bunch of more difficult stuff. All bolts are new. The anchors I encountered were hooks, but there might be some rings up there. So a sling wouldn't hurt. The rock granite. It's is a little sharp in places but overall it's pretty good. And some of the ratings seemed a bit steep. Both of the 10.a's work up an arete. And there is a very small cave that you can check out on one of the 10.d's.... [Read More]

The Falls / Rockslide
Submitted on October 28th, 2008 by choss monkey Type: Bouldering    Province: Gyeongsangnam-Do    City: Busan
photo LOTS of rock from the Falls all the way up to the base of Nabi Bawi.

THE FALLS is a small area low on the mountain with a few high quality problems that range from slab to steep. Most problems are short but there are a few highballs. The stone is typical for the region. Mostly good, but with occasional chossy areas. It all cleans up nicely though. Perfect for A.M. sessions.

THE ROCKSLIDE is about 15 min from The Falls to the nearest problems, and the rock continues all the way up the mountain to the base of Nabi Bawi. Go with som... [Read More]
