Crowded on Sundays, this is a nice wall in good condition with a climbing for all levels just west of Seoul.
Located in a huge outdoor park, it has a pretty good vibe and has good facilities.
Uniquely, this wall has fixed quickdraws on all the routes, so you won't have to bring any. Makes leading a lot easier too.... [Read More]

A small wall made up of four sections, from left to right, lets just say A, B, C, & D.

Anyang Stadium Climbing Wall

This was one of the first municipal walls to pop up on a major stadium in the mid-1990s. It still draws local climbers and some competitions, though even with recent renovations it shows it's age.
10 meters wide X 15 meters high, the main wall overhangs 110-135 degrees. There is a shorter, almost vertical wall on the side, so beginners need not be too intimidated.... [Read More]

This is the 10X15 meter wall visible from the subway just south of Seoul Station. On the main street by a women's university and near downtown, you're sure to be a celebrity!

4 meters high and 20 meters long, there are no marked routes. This wall is part of a neighborhood park that includes skateboarding ramps. While technically in Osong in Chungbuk, it's just minutes walking from Chungnam. I rode my bike here from Jochiwon. Routes are limited by you imagination and skill. Most of the holds are pretty solid, with a few spinners (so next time I'll bring a wrench).... [Read More]

Boramae Park Climbing Wall
|
|
|
15 meters high: slightly-less than vertical, vertical, overhanging and near-roof routes. Boramae was one of 8 parks in Seoul to be renovated with climbing walls and other public use facilities as part of a city wide parks master plan.
The wall is gated, and unlike many walls you can join this one or pay a W1000 use fee.
Looks almost the same as Danggogae, but the roof covers a wee bit more on top.
Open 10:00-21:00.
There is a W1,000 per-use fee (memberships available) and a liability waiver to be signed (in Korean, of course).... [Read More]

About 6 routes on a wall near the City Sports Complex and an amusement park!
The bottom holds were missing and the wall was seeping (it had rained the day we went), but wee were told it would be re-opened for the season when the weather improved. When opened the public hours are: Wed-Sat 1:00-10:00; Sunday and holidays 9:00-6:00; the last Tuesday of the month: 9:00-6:00. The wall is also used for special programs and classes. Day use is W1,500 with various membership packages. The back of the wall sports an artificial waterfall!... [Read More]

Billed as an endurance wall, this has to be the wildest climbing wall I've ever seen!! It's a haul, but it is accessible via public transport. It's 17 meters high at the top of the head-- but routes are 22 meters, 23 including the 2 meters of horn with holds! (an overhang of 17 meters at the steepest). . . the base is only 4 meters deep, but it does seem solid!
One caveat-- the first 3 meters are hold free-- you must make a reservation to use the wall.
To reserve, call Pak Jae-ooh (박재우) at 011-207-0957(Korean) a day ... [Read More]
