Description
Mir Climbing Center is the only well populated climbing center in Suncheon and Gwangyang. There is always a decent crowd at the climbing center on weekday evenings and Saturdays. As most climbing gyms in Korea, this gym does not focus on bouldering and does not have any climbs that require a climbing rope. However, it is a very good gym to meet friendly climbers and endurance training. They also have special classes for those who are new to climbing and want help improving their climbing.
This gym has been opened since July 2014.
While none of the staff speak English, they are all very amiable and welcoming, as are the climbers who frequent the gym. The staff also plans trips to local climbing spots almost every Sunday with members of the gym. All members are welcome and it is a very good way to be introduced to the climbing spots in Jeollanam-do.
Hours of operation:
Every day from 10am-11pm.
Fees:
Daily fee - 10,000W for one day of climbing
Shoe rental - 5,000W for one day
Monthly Fee - 80,000W
Directions
Use the Naver Maps or Google Maps application and plug in the address in Korean.
The gym is approximately a 10 minute walk southwest of the Ecograd Hotel.

As the gym had only recently opened and wasn't well know in the foreign community, I was the only foreigner to regularly climb at Miru Climbing Center but even though I am no longer in Korea I am still in contact with the owners and some of the members of the gym.
So, if you have any questions regarding the gym, feel free to ask through a PM or the comments section!
