Description
Yong-chu is an artificial ice wall at which probably more than ten routes can be set up safely, depending on the season and grounds-keeper. Depending on the route, the routes vary from 25M to 45M.

Directions
Yong-chu Gugok located just past Gapyeong off of highway 46. Coming from Seoul, be sure to take the abrupt left-handed exit into Gapyeong, drive by the train station and down the main strip all the way through town until the sign for Yong-chu Gugok or Highway 7, pull left here. Follow this road all the way to the end. You're on the right track if there is a large creek running along to your left. The drive from Gapyeong to the artificial ice wall is roughly twenty minutes or by your own speed.

Transportation from the train station to the artificial ice wall by bus is nil. However, plan to stay the night or eat at the owner's, he will pick you up and drive you back to Gapyeong. I suggest at least eating at his restuarant or staying the night at his minbak if you do so.

Safety Concerns
There are plenty of trees from which to fix anchors and access around to the top is easy enough for top-roping.

Gear to Bring
The usual plus extra long slingage for your anchors and two 50M ropes or single 100M rope.

Additional Comments
Because this is an artificial ice-fall, it is important to make sure that the ice-fall will be in operation at the begining of each season.

Sleeping accomodations are littered along the road up to the artificial ice fall. As for camping, there doesn't seem to be a designated area, but it could be sought out. There aren't many shops, so buying food beforehand might be a plus.

There are lamps set up at the ice fall just in case you have that itch to night-climb.

No reservations are neccessary and there is no climbing fee, however, be sure to seek out the JeotNamuSup(젓나무숲) minbak/restuarant and be sure to fill out a waiver(각서) releasing them from any potential liability.
